I just want to start off by saying that this book is incredible. Sonya is right, I don't have to apologize for my body or any part of me. I also learned that radical self-love is different than I thought.

This book had helpful thoughts, great advice and relatable experiences and stories. I think those are some of the things that made me connect with it on such a personal level, that and how I have been struggling with loving my body.

Throughout the book you learn about making you journey of self-love a radical one; because you can proclaim having self-love but it not be a healthy kind. You learn about shame and guilt about our bodies, along with other things, that we shouldn't have to feel guilty about. You learn about how we live in a society that is built around subconscious and conscious judgement. You learn the stepping stones and tools needed to build a loving relationship with your body, one with no guilt or shame. And finally you learn the radical self love tools (which is pretty much all throughout the book and the other things I mentioned).

I honestly believed that I knew exactly what this book would say before I even opened the cover. I preemptively judged the book and the author subconsciously, without even realizing what I was doing. I am very glad to say that I was completely wrong about the contents I believed were in this book. Sonya took me for a ride through what it means to love your body and the power of radical self-love. It wasn't "accept your fat and love yourself for that," so if that is what you were/are expecting from this book, like I was, nope not even close.

I don't want to explain too much about the contents because I feel the journey is most enjoyable first hand and I don't want to ruin the experience for those to go on to read this book after choosing to read my review.

But I would definitely recommend to everyone! You don't have to be a certain body-type/size, a certain gender, a certain race, as long as you are a person within a body this book is for you.
